Milan Fashion Week. Some of my favourite pieces from the Autumn/Winter Ready to Wear Collections.

Tartan, Fur and Prints! Designers have portrayed this in varying degrees on the runway. Here are some of my favourite pieces that literally made my jaw drop!

Next season's collection is 'a true ode to the United Kingdom' as it features rich and regal tartan looks.
The collection includes oversized riding hats, badge or crest-emblazoned jumpers, pleat skirts and blingy gold earrings to top the look off, a perfect styling touch.
Here are some of my favourite pieces from the collection.

Sport shapes and a new take on the digital age. This collection drifted away from feminisim and tapped into a more 'masculine sensibility.'
Inspiration was derived from the sci-fi film, Blade Runner but at the same time combined with Seven Years in Tibet.
Veronica Etro states: 'I had in my mind sportswear, motorcycle trousers. She's half a biker, but still spiritual, she's tribal.'
Her imagination was transparent on the catwalk of MFW as tribal aspects drew on digital techniques.
Oh btw, bombers are back!

one word: PUNK. Donatella Versace leaves us in awe once again. Studs, vinyl, aggression and tight dresses which means that this collection is for the fearless, rebellious and the brave. The collection features tight vinyl dresses, supersized militaryesque coats and dangerous spiked boots. (OUCH!)
Pleats, tartan kilts and punk. Swit Swooooo! Autumn/Winter 2013/14 looks cray cray.

Belted waists and oversized bags - two of Prada's elements obvious in the new collection.
2 words to describe this collection? Austere and glamorous. Some of the apparel are adorned with sequins while high platforms and overcoats make an appearance too.

Just Cavalli (Robert Cavalli)
The Just Cavalli line is quite urban and reflective of the typical girl walking on the streets. It is wearable and that is why I love it! I could totally see myself pulling off some of the pieces.. especially in this collection! The collection is young and vibrant.. just like meeee!
The use of vivid colour suggests that the collection is of Asian influence. We see pops of turquoise, orange, red and green. What a fun and culturally infused collection!

'Fur is Fendi, Fendi is fur.' AND THIS IS CORRECT. Karl Lagerfeld, one of the most fantastic fashion illustrators of all time, creates a punk spirit within this collection, with neon shades of course: orange, pink, purple and magenta. The collection lends itself an 'added Eighties, Nu-rave sensibility' , with sleek and linear silhouettes too.

And that's about it guys! Just thought I'd share some of my favourites from Milan Fashion Week. Really looking forward to seeing the rest! Hope you guys enjoyed this post, until next time ;)

Interview with Dami Okesanya ( Urban Asho )

Hey guys! :)

This week I was interviewed by my fellow fashionista, Dami Okesanya.

Dami isn't only my friend, but she is also an aspiring young fashion designer trying to break it into the fashion industry.. just like me!

With her weekly vlogs, fashion page (Urban Asho) and various fashion shows, Dami keeps her viewers posted on her achievements, plans and designs that she has created.

I have so much love and respect for this girl and it's great to see that young people in Ireland are doing something positive and trying their hardest to achieve their goals.

Here's the video! Feel free to leave a comment :)

Have a great week fashionistas!
